Our History
2012
THE BEGINNINGS
September 2012 Flambard Williams was born. Set up by Stephen Coles with a head office in Braintree.
Local Recruitment
The team was recruited locally and grew slowly, allowing for a strong foundation to be built for future growth and development.
Early Contracts
A number of early contracts were signed with developers, which proved crucial for the company's growth and future success.
Small Client Base
Over the next year, the business dealt with a small number of clients, allowing for focused attention and personalised service.
Building Fundamentals
This period gave the company time to work on the fundamentals of the business, such as marketing and web design, which are often overlooked when setting up a business.
2013
The Key Signing
2013 was a continuation of 2012, but it soon became apparent to Stephen Coles that the business was moving too slowly under his leadership, so he started to look for potential buyers. In November 2013, Christopher Whetstone purchased the company. From this moment, the company dramatically expanded.
Strategic Contracts
Contracts with good property developers were kept, while contracts with weaker developers were voided. The company moved its premises to Chelmsford, ensuring a more strategic and beneficial location for growth.
Marketing Transformation
The marketing department was transformed with the recruitment of Jannaire Faulkner, marking a significant change for the company. This overhaul led to enhanced marketing strategies and broader outreach.
Recruitment Expansion
Recruitment took on a whole new level. The company started to recruit from a wider net of candidates, which spurred the business onto new heights and facilitated its rapid expansion.
2014
New Headquarters
In January 2014, we moved our headquarters to Chelmsford, Essex, providing a stable base for our expanding operations.
Industry Recognition
As the company grew in stature within the industry, it started to branch out, gaining significant recognition
European Exhibitions
Exhibitions were held around Europe, including major cities such as London and Athens, showcasing the company's offerings and expertise.
Expanding Client Base
Our client base started to change dramatically. Initially, it was 90% UK-centric, but by the end of 2014, 60% of our clients were overseas investors.
Overseas Investors
The shift towards overseas investors marked a significant change, highlighting the company's growing international appeal and reputation.
2015
Global Exhibitions
In 2015, our exhibitions around the world continued, with Dubai added to the list along with twice-a-year exhibitions at the Excel Centre in London.
Office Relocation
Due to our expanding team, we moved the office to the oldest building in Chelmsford, The Dolls House, a classic Tudor building.
The Birth of FW Lettings
Our lettings business, FW Lettings, was born in 2015. We noticed that many clients had great properties but were let down by their agents, prompting us to start this new venture.
Building Strong Foundations
We only took on a small handful of lettings initially to get the foundations right before we really started to build the business.
2016
New Leadership
In 2016, two key personnel joined the company: Jack Percival and Paul Tillett.
Jack Percival's Rise
Jack Percival, our now Sales Director, started as a broker and worked his way up the ranks through sheer hard work and dedication.
Paul Tillett's Contribution
Paul Tillett, an ex-FCA-regulated broker who recently retired, came out of retirement to help build the company and take it to the next level.
Valuable Contributions
Paul brought a wealth of experience and wisdom to the team, proving invaluable to Flambard Williams over the coming years.
2017
Our Award Success Begins
2017 marked the start of our awards success. We entered various awards and won in our first year, including Best Agent and Best Agency.
Best Agent Award
The Best Agent award was given to Martyn Taylor, who won this coveted award through total dedication to his clients.
Final Chelmsford Move
We moved to a larger office in The Aquarium building in Chelmsford. This expansion accommodated our growing team and was our final move before relocating to London.

2018
Award-Winning Year
2018 was a remarkable year for awards at our company. We won three awards at the International Property Awards show, including Best Marketing, Best Agent, and Best Agency. Additionally, we won Best Stand at our exhibition at the Excel Centre in London and Best International Agent in UAE.
Continued Growth Amidst Challenges
Despite the negative economic backdrop of Brexit, the lettings side of the business continued to grow. The company pushed forward, demonstrating resilience and determination.

2019
The Big Move
2019 started off like any other year but proved pivotal by the end. We were expanding rapidly in terms of our client base but had a limited pool of staff in Chelmsford. In September 2019, we decided to move to London, and by October, we were fully set up at 40 Bank Street.
New Hires
A key new hire during this period was Shannice Fredericks. Little did we know that five years later, Shannice would still be with us, achieving great heights.
Yet More Awards
2019 was another great year for awards. We won Best Website, Best Marketing, and Best Agency, continuing our streak of recognition and success.

2020
The Impact of COVID-19
2020 was literally a game of two halves. For the first half of the year, it was total shutdown with everyone locked down and working from home. However, we could sense that something was going to happen with the property market.
Market Boom
The amount of inquiries we received increased week by week, mainly due to investors having more time at home to think and plan for their futures. Once we were allowed back in the office, it was lift off as the market boomed.
Angelene Pershad Joins the Team
Angelene Pershad joined us as a 20-year-old from Ted Baker. Her first task was to handle over 90 completions and lets, a challenging feat for any professional, that too someone new to the property world. Angelene's dedication and hard work paid off, and she is still with us today, thriving in her role.

2021
Record-Breaking Year
2021 was the best year on record for Flambard Williams. The market was booming post-COVID, and the investment property world was thriving with a great number of deals.
Team Expansion and Outsourcing
We expanded our team and began to branch out our marketing efforts, outsourcing a number of projects to support our growing operations.

2022
Brand Ambassador and Office Move
In November, we signed our first brand ambassador, golf prodigy Wilco Nienaber. In December, we moved to a larger office in Canary Wharf, marking another milestone in our growth.
Overseas Trips
In 2022, the team was going strong and was treated to two trips overseas, including Corfu and Dubai, as a reward for their hard work and dedication.

Through her extreme hard work and dedication, Shannice Fredericks won the Best Agent of the Year award in Autumn 2022, offering her clients unparalleled service.
2023
Awards and Achievements
We won numerous awards, including Best Agency, Best Marketing, and a five-star rating for our Lettings Department. Our team achieved a 100% occupancy rate for traditional lets, ensuring a one-day turnaround between tenants. Additionally, we won three prestigious International Property Awards for Best Agency, Best Real Estate Marketing, and Best Lettings.
Expansion and New Premises
In 2023, due to rapid growth, we moved to larger premises at 30 Churchill Place in Canary Wharf, reflecting our expanding operations and success.
Global Exhibitions
We planned and completed multiple exhibitions around the globe, including in Athens, London, Saudi Arabia, Doha, Bahrain, and Shanghai, showcasing our presence in the international market.
Success & Growth
In 2023, our team of brokers delivered on their promise by advising on over £200 million worth of property, demonstrating our expertise and trust in the market. Additionally, 2023 was a bumper year for our clients, with £2.2 million in revenue paid to them. As rents continue to increase year on year, we anticipate even greater success in the future.
